Bowls, Bowls, and more Bowls

Wally's Collegiate Corner: In the next three weeks I will try to break down a few random College Bowl games, giving my insight to what I think and who I feel will be the underdog going into the game and who I think will be victorious. There are over 30 Bowl games leading up to the BCS Championship game on January 7, 2012. This coming weekend we have our first two bowl games, and I will pick the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, which will have the (7-5) Nevada Wolf pack playing against .the (7-5) Arizona Wildcats. This will be a very interesting game because it actually pits the TOP 2 rushing leaders in the nation in Wildcat RB Ka'Deem Carey, and Wolf pack RB Stefphon Jefferson, I expect this to be a fairly high scoring game because both defenses are not that strong and both offenses are very good. I will mention that the Arizona Wildcat defense has played very well against the Top#25 teams they played against, the Wildcats have QB Matt Scott who is a duel threat because he can run the ball very effectively, and they also have the #7 offense in the nation using the spread attack. I will go with Arizona coming out victorious and winning this game, but will say this will be a very offense orientated game for both teams, final score 38 - 24. This will be 24 days of Collegiate Bowl games; of course it won't be consecutive days but pretty close, so if you like college football, we could see some great games. On the local front, at the present time our UConn Huskies are in all lull due to final exams, but on December 17th, we will see our men's, and woman's teams get back into action, the Men's team will be playing Maryland Eastern-Shore, and our Woman's team will be playing on December 19th against Oakland, both will be played at the XL Center in Hartford Conn. I personally look forward the Huskies getting back to action, but will watch some of the Bowl games too. I love the collegiate sports, especially Football and Basketball.
